Linux Town Hall September

Tuesday, 1st September 2026
6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
In-person: Kathleen Syme Library and Community Centre, Carlton VIC (2nd floor lobby for pre-activity, then the training and learning room) Online: Electron eVenue

Join us for the Linux Town Hall September meeting for hardware, books, and community discussion — with the upcoming Software Freedom Day as our main topic.

Key Discussion Points

  • Software Freedom Day: planning, ideas, and how to get involved
  • Linux & AI planning

For upcoming events, we welcome more talks, demos, lightning talk, and presentations:

Pre-Activity: Hardware Exchange & Book Circulation

From 6pm, drop by the 2nd floor lobby (kettle's on for tea and biscuits) for two ongoing community swaps:

  • Hardware Exchange: bring along second-hand hardware you no longer need; take home whatever someone else has brought
  • Book Circulation: bring books to lend, borrow one that catches your eye

No obligation either way. Come for one, both, or just the tea.

Join In Person

From 7pm, the Town Hall proper moves to the training and learning space (the upstairs room with the computers) at Kathleen Syme Library, for community discussion points and lightning talks (always welcome, always impromptu).
